Introduction to Taraja
Taraja Resource Network, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty in the African Great Lakes region; one family at a time. Taraja derives its name from a Swahili word for hope, dream, or aspiration. We at Taraja, believe that both the poor and those blessed with resources aspire to see individuals, families, and communities improve their lives and achieve lasting victories against poverty. Taraja exists to help this dream become a reality.
Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty in the African Great Lakes region, one family at a time. We seek to accomplish our mission by providing support for Education, Micro-Enterprise, Mentoring, and Networking.
